Notes of now: Emerging Spring

Click here to listen to the playlist on Spotify!
A mix of soulful oldies, predictable calm alternative, and hopefully some newbies- these are tunes that shut the cold out.
The mood of this playlist:

Pattering rain drops and a boiling tea kettle

The cracks of early morning sunlight peaking through blinds

Opening your door to a cold brisk morning that holds the promise of a warm sunny afternoon to come

Starting a long drive with cold leather seats that ends up with all the windows down, sunglasses on and arms out in the wind

Disclaimer: this particular playlist is very eclectic and doesn't make much sense from a cohesion point of view- but neither does this time of year. This weird in-between season is the personification of the worst kind of person- an unreliable tease. We get a week of bright sunshine that makes coats collect dust but the following week cold rain hits with a vengeance (#subtweet at Eugene).

A few highlights:
  • Amazing Grace, Sufjan Stevens: all the folky chills
  • Ophelia, The Lumineers: new release from the band that is moody, but catchy
  • Berlin, RY X: You want sleep? You got it.
  • In Your Atmosphere, John Mayer: 5 mins and 46 seconds of pure reminiscing and feeling sentimental
With love and tunes,
Sarah Belle
